Laying down pipes is a tough job. It's not only for overweight guys with a problem keeping their butt cracks covered up, it's a job for puzzle lovers and thinkers, too. Don't agree? Well, if so, that's because you haven't played Pipemania yet. We've put in some time with the pipe-centric puzzler, playing up the DS version which, while having a different interface than the PSP, will have the exact same core gameplay and game modes. The main objective of the game is to build pipes and keep fluid called "Flooze" from flooding the game grid. There are two designated squares which will represent 1) the beginning where the Flooze will flow from, and 2) the end where the Flooze needs to be brought to. To bridge these two points together, you'll have to make good use of a prearranged line of differently shaped pipe pieces. You'll only be able to use pipes in a fixed sequential order; however, you'll be able to view the next few pieces in line to plan ahead. This sort of preset arrangement maintains a consistent difficulty, providing balance to the progressive difficulty of the game as more gameplay elements and stricter time pressure appear.Gallery: Pipemania

Download to PSPWe're mostly used to seeing an amalgamation of different cut scenes in our Dissidia: Final Fantasy trailers; however, this time we're treated to over two minutes of pure gameplay. The battle you'll be witnessing is between Final Fantasy III light and dark reps, Onion Kid and The Cloud of Darkness.One thing this blogger particularly took notice of was the short pause for the Onion Kid during his break status; he does a class change and then has to choose an ability from a drop down menu. It's interesting to see that while the game is a fast and fluid fisticuff, the developers could still incorporate some of the traditional turn-based Final Fantasy elements into the game. Are you not grasping that thought fully? Well, you will once you see the trailer.

Sony to Offer Full PSP Games for Download

Playing copycat to its fat console counterpart, PSP will soon see a few of its major releases available as a download in addition to a UMD. Sony announced today that two of its upcoming Japanese games will be available both through standard retail channels and via digital download.
Yuusha no Kuse ni Namaikida or2 and Bleach Soul Carnival will be following the route taken by PS3 titles like Gran Turismo Prologue. Sony will offer a download version of the games date in with the retail versions, and will even give players who go the download route a discount. Yuusha no Kuse will cost 2,800 yen in download form compared to 3,980 yen in UMD form. Bleach Soul Carnival will cost 3,800 yen for download and 4,743 yen in retail release.
While these titles are likely to remain in Japanese territorial waters, they're pretty high profile as far as Sony Japan's first party games go. Bleach Soul Carnival is the latest adaptation of the popular anime series. Yuusha no Kuse ni Namaikida or2 is a sequel to a critically acclaimed puzzle game that reverses the standard RPG setting, putting players in control of the beasts who must expel the encroaching heroes from dungeons.
Yuusha arrives first on October 16, with Bleach coming a week later on October 23.
Sony has yet to share details on Memory Stick storage requirements or how it will be handling instruction manuals.

Ooblik has posted a new release of the XMB Replacement for PSP:
This a XMB replacement project for the PSP....
Currenty Only Tested on PSP Slim 4.01 M33-2
So far everything is visually customizable. Check Config.cfg and Skin.cfg in the
Skins/Default folder for more information. I hope to see many creative Skins!
To Install extract to the root of your memory stick.

Sony\'s David Reeves has confirmed that for European folks the only way to get their hands on a PSP 3000 is by purchasing a bundle. For the foreseeable future, the PSP 2000 will remain the base PSP model....
