American PC Store update for August 14th

Street Fighter Alpha is the gem at the top of today's rather pathetic pile of treasure. Unless you're a fan of themes and wallpapers, that's actually all that will interest you. It could definitely be worse though; of all the PS1 games that could've been chosen, Street Fighter Alpha's definitely not one to moan about. Here's the full release list:

Just in case you guys forgot, don't forget that today's PS3 version of Bionic Commando Rearmed features an exclusive feature that neither the XBLA or PC versions have: Remote Play. This will allow you to play Bionic Commando Rearmed on your PSP. Not bad, huh? Not only does Capcom's downloadable game have an extra challenge level for PS3 fans, but it will also have support for Trophies in the future. With the DualShock's superior D-Pad, it's clear that the PS3 version of Bionic Commando is superior to the XBLA version. The PSP-3001 is real, folks. The next generation follow-up to the current PSP-2000 series system was discovered on the FCC website. Problem? We don't see anything particularly new about it ... yet. Unfortunately, many of the more interesting details about the system are still unavailable for public access. Expect to see more info coming out of Sony about this next PSP revision in the coming weeks.[Via Engadget]

Yeah, we all know the story -- Brett Favre pulling a fast one out of retirement and signing up with the Jets. While football fans may have been ecstatic over the news, it was a move that left Maddenites with an outdated cover for Madden NFL 09. However, not wanting fans to remain disappointed, EA has a backup play to counter Favre's surprise blitz.If you head on over to EA's website, you can download a free, brand new cover for Madden 09 which features Favre sporting a Jets uniform. The covers are high quality PDFs, so you just have to make sure you have a good printer and some glossy paper to make the cover look legit. Might want to stop by Kinkos for that. Mytran Wars announced for PSP

Listen up folks, another new game has been announced. This time it's a turn-based strategy game called Mytran Wars. It's exclusive to the PSP and is a creation of Budapest-based devs, Stormregion. These guys are the makers of PC games such as: Rush for Berlin, S.W.I.N.E., and Codename: Panzers. They really love their war games, huh?Mytran Wars is a stark contrast from Stormregion's other works, primarily because the setting is in space and not their usual choice of WWII or the Cold War era. As for the actual story, the long-short of it goes: It's the 23rd century, and humans and aliens are at war over resources.The game will feature a multiplayer mode. No other details were mentioned after that. So a price and date will remain in the far reaches of space for now.[Via press release]

According to reports, retailers are issuing a product recall in Japan for the PSP Chotto shot camera due to a safety issue and high defect rate. Further reports suggest that the camera has been known to get extremely hot and burning smells have emitted from the unit....
